RAG challenges you to an incredible two week journey from the Parkinson steps to the historic and culturally rich city of Marrakesh, soaking up European sights and sunshine along the way!
Upon arrival in Marrakesh, explore the intertwining narrow passageways of the Medina and the modern district of Ville Nouvelle. Take yourself away camel trekking in the Sahara, on a tour of local markets (food cheap, yet delicious) or for a well-deserved beach day! With a destination city whose name means ‘Land of God’, lying nearby the foothills of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains and in close proximity of the foot of the Sahara Desert, this hitch to North Africa is the ultimate way to celebrate the end of exams and the start of summer.

With our carefully structured and experienced safety plan, hitching with Leeds RAG is fun and safe. And don’t worry about signing up on your own; our leaders will make sure everyone is put into groups of 2-4 with people they feel comfortable with.
“Taking part in the RAG hitchhike to Marrakesh was a brilliant experience. The chance to meet loads of really interesting and friendly people was great and the not knowing where your next lift would be taking you meant that we got to see places that we otherwise would not have done. A really fun experience combined with raising money for a very worthwhile cause!” – Ryan Rothery, 2012 Participant
