Enrich the lives of disabled orphans whilst experiencing all that Thailand has to offer. This is a fun, challenging and life changing experience!
The Leeds RAG Thailand project combines helping make the lives of abandoned and disabled children better and happier with exploring and getting to know a completely different culture and country. If you really want to make a difference to someone’s life, to immerse yourself in another culture, and are craving the opportunity to explore South East Asia, then look no further!Work during the week with some of the loveliest children, and then travel on your weekends off with the other volunteers to discover everything Thailand has to offer; waterfalls, elepahnt trekking, rainforests, the Thai Island of KOH SAMET, shopping in the crazy city of Bangkok…much much more.Make a difference in ways you didn’t think possible!
Once volunteers are chosen:
5 will be going to Manoram which is more rural and involves an Authentic Thai Experience. Work 4 main aspects:

The other volunteers will be based in Pakkred where there are 3 different working area: 1) rainbow house – a respite centre for disabled children that live in the community. 2) Fung fah – which is working with children under the age of 5 from the government wards and 3) Rachawadee Girls – working with teenage girls from the wards. The trip runs twice over the summer, one after exams and one before the start of Semester 1 in 2014. Its a 6 week project and such a worthwhile thing to do!
APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN! LIMITED PLACES
“A single days worth of music therapy with the girls in the government wards was a life changing experience for me. Music therapy breaks down all language barriers and stimulates even the most introverted child to express themselves. To see a smile spread across their faces even in their desperate situation was worth more than anything I can imagine.” Rosie, 2012 Volunteer
